    Our Story

It all started with a common dream. But dream alone isn’t sufficient, it take a lot of effort and endurance to make dream a reality. With this, Razzle Play was formed.

Razzle Play means Noisy Fun! The name didn’t come easy. It took more then 2 months before this name became official! Why? We have simply too many ideas on what we should be named! We need something that really represent us and our ideas. Except the brothers, Vincent and Victor, the rest of Razzle Play came together all purely because of fate and their common dream.

Vincent and Victor both grew up without the ability to have proper music training and only took advantage when they entered secondary school. There they both joined their respective school’s band and it started their music journey. Both of them are heavily influenced by Jrock and Cpop music in their early age and even up till present; you can sense the influences still exist. Vincent soon moved into music that features guitar technicalities e.g. Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani and Dream Theater. Victor got more involved into Jrock bands e.g. Dir en grey and Gazette. Vincent started to perform actively under Singapore Polytechnic Guitar Club and was appointed as the Student Instructor. He also formed a band named Sandals and Bermudas which later on converted into Vive after some member changes. Vive only played for a few events and Vincent got involved in the army and Victor was invited to play in Lucify which later joined Mediacorp Channel U SuperBand competition. Lucify got into 3rd position after the long race. That competition gave Victor great exposure and experience which is crucial to what he is now.

Sean was previously from the now de-funct Revv and had performed under Revv for a long 5 years time. Alike most bassists out there, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Nathan East, Billy Sheehan, Jaco, Larry Graham, EWF, RHCP, Mayday, Beyond, are just one of the many of Sean’s influences. Sean’s style is never ending! From rock to fusion to jazz, you’ll be surprised what you’ll hear in his line. Just like the famous Singapore Dish ‘Rojak’, it’s a mix of everything. While Sean is not playing the bass, he will be somewhere out there around the neighborhood looking for good food.

Musical sense developed from young when Simin grew up listening to church choir practices. Similar to the “V brothers”, further ear training continued during her secondary school days after she joins the school’s band. Believe it or not, the person that started her playing the guitar is actually her sister! Carrying out a dream of her sister as well, Simin started to perform actively under Nanyang Polytechnic Guitar Club and later performed at The Ark Music Café for a few years. Simin is greatly inspired by her favorite artiste, Cheer Chen and its no doubt you will see some similarities during her performance. She is no stranger to the music scene and is currently performing at Music Dreamers Café.

Without any formal vocal training, Siling is blessed with a natural soothing singing voice which most girls dream to have. Her passion of singing grew after listening to Zhang Hui Mei in her early days. Since then, Siling participated in various singing competitions in school and later started performing at a young age of 17 at The Ark Music Café. Having a strong-willed, energetic character, Siling is all out to rock you! Her favorite singers include Jay Chou, Cao Ge and she also admire singers like Joey Yung, Fish Leong and Angela Zhang.
